Well. Sometimes when I am posting responses like the one I am about to post I hesitate, because I think: If I'm going to say this to another person, I'd better be prepared to take it on in my own life.
However, that said: I think certainty is over-rated. I think being conflicted and confused can provide extremely valuable information about how to live the best and right life for us. As uncomfortable and sad as it can be to have no clear idea of the path forward (or sideways, or whether there should be a path, or whether you should just loop back and try for a do-over), I truly think the juice of life comes from exploring these unexplored places and uncomfortable emotional spaces.
I think that so much of what we operate on is false, almost like a collective hallucination. So much of what we think we "should" do or is the Right Thing is mis-informed. You might not think that, at all, but I suspect that the sadness, confusion and uncertainty can start to open up, for you, a sense of what is the best thing to be doing next.
Oh! And: if you are talking about that Sweetney post in which she writes about her time deficit as a mom and how it lifted when her kid went to kindergarten and about how she's ruled out another kid because she likes her "alone time" too much

And Sweetney is an old friend of mine that I am not so in touch with anymore but she lives right near me. Small world.
