Eh in the first post I actually do get his point. It is exceedingly douchey to not invite the significant other of someone you know has been in a relationship longer than you and restrict things to only those who are engaged and married. Esp since there are still subsets of people who can't get legally married. If keeping costs down is that big of a deal, then you must not really want the one person at your wedding either.
That guy is a douche. (swung in from the weddingplans community) I don't like the implication that I should be forced to have a wedding of 100+ people or I should just go to City Hall with my 40 friends and family. It's obvious this guy ISN'T married because he has NO clue how much a wedding of even just a small group of friends can COST the bride and groom.
He's a piece of work. I will only agree that it's weird that he's in a committed relationship and his S.O. isn't invited but there's no reason to be a fussy butt about it.
