that's an awesome brilliant idea! I think if I use acrylic it will remain flexible enough that it won't crack. If I coat it in a thin layer of polyurethane, it will be able to be wiped down, but I'm a little concerned that it may make it stiffer, and thus more likely to crack. Just a little concerned though, I think it'll likely be just fine.
as far as charging money, I'd rather just barter with you? We work together and make one for you, then we work together and make one for me - how's that sound?
Also, I think it may be easier to make the corset first, and then for me to paint it. I've tried sewing into painted fabric before and it was a fucking nightmare, and that was just cotton fabric, not canvas.
I have no problem making the corset first (that way if I mess up on anything, I haven't destroyed a piece of art). My only concern with it is that the curves are built in so the canvas would not be flat, though it would be fairly stiff, but again, I bow to your knowledge on what would work on that end.
