Florence in the Fall!!!

Yay!  I have registered for the Janet Arnold conference that will be in Florence!  Costume Textiles

They are only allowing 250 to register for the conference.  So far I know of at least 4 other friends that are going, including some of my NY friends that I don't get to see very often.  I've been looking at hotels vs apts vs hostels trying to decide

AUGH! I am SO jealous! :-) Take LOTS of pictures, pls! (If there's anything to take pictures of, of course.) Last time I was in Florence, 3+ years ago, the Costume Institute at the Pitti Palace was closed.

Both times we've been to Florence, we've stayed at Hotel Il Perseo, which is right down the street from the Duomo. It's reasonably priced, especially off season, and it's homey and friendly and comfortable. I don't think we'd stay anywhere else. :-)
