Thank you very much, Solas!!! I am looking forward to exploring the LJ community (of which right now I have zeroooo knowledge)! Merry Christmas to you and yours and Happy Birthday solely to yet again ;))) lol
I completely understand holidays being different in different countries. I am currently in Germany but, hail from the united states. The holiday season was very different this year than normal. It was odd not having family around, course I did have my husband and daughter with me and thank god for the web-cam so the little ones could see each other.
It did feel rather awkward to be celebrating this particular holiday in a different atmosphere, didn't it? Fortunately, it did not entirely spoil my festive season! New Year turned out to be the grandest celebration of the year in this country...thus, I reaped the benefits of it :) Have you transferred to Germany due to a work placement by any chance? My own mother used to live there for over 10 years because of it (in Munich) before she had to move to Romania (out of all places in Europe!). It IS very hard to be apart from family in instances like that but I guess we should be thankful for the technology of nowadays for making it easier for us - not matter how annoying this "advancement" appears to us in normal cases. Lol ;)
