YOU NAMED HER FELON!!! You might as well have named her Outlaw Houdini!

Please excuse me if I find this hilarious. Plus the look on her face is like "HA HA! YOU CAN'T HOLD ME! puny humans."

XTINK named her Felon. I wanted to name her Fellatio.

And I wouldn't have posted it if it weren't to be found hilarious. :-p

I don't want to imagine what she'd be up to if you'd named her Fellatio....

For the first link, Felon is perfectly calm inside the crate when we're home. As soon as the front door shuts behind us it's trouble, though. The muzzle looks like it would be the best bet if this latest try doesn't work. Wouldn't that inhibit breathing and possibly lead to overheating, though?

I'm keeping an eye on her teeth. I can see a chip here or there, but her gums and tongue look ok. I'm going to monitor it for a while.

The split rings are actuallly a pretty good solution, because when the bars are in place the rings are pulled snug against the mesh, and there isn't really anything sticking out on the inside for her to chew on.

I could give her her kong to chew on, but she doesn't seem interested in it when there's no food inside. I can't give her peanut butter every day, can I? :-p Any suggestions for safe crate chewables (something that she couldn't break up and choke on while we're not home) that might actually hold her interest?

Take a kong, pack it with some kibble/canned food, freeze it. Have 2 kongs, alternate which one she gets each day.

Why the two kongs? Different fillings?

Why not build a dog run outside?

Because we rent, and anything not firmly attached to the ground, she could pick up and toss over her shoulder with one flick of her delicate, fuzzy nose.

Yeah, I can only imagine the canine containment nightmare involved in keeping her outside.

I think you need to investigate using a powerful magnetic containment field.

hehhe - you can tell by the way she is looking at you she is ONE smart cookie!
:)
I have a feeling she won't be crate bound for long. Once she overcomes the puppy destructive separation anxiety phase... she will be content to just sleep when you are gone. she is just hormonal like a teenager right now!
I am so excited for your new family member. she is gorgeous!
Lazy Ass thinks she is hot too!

She's not a new family member, and she's not a puppy! She's 3 1/2 and should have grown out of this by now. :-p But German Shepherds take a long time to grow out of youthful exhuberance. Greyhounds are sleepyheads, but she won't be as Lazy as Lazy Ass until she's geriatric, I'm betting.
