What If We Had PrideFest And No One Protested?
Lansing Gay Pride was TOTALLY DEVOID of fundamentalist protesters yesterday. At first I thought they would be around later, but they were nowhere to be seen. Then I thought I'd surely see them along the parade route, which we were in with the Big Gay Van as our float. The Nova and the Art School Girl
The 72 Chevy Nova came to a screeching halt in a dual cloud of smoking rubber and exhaust fumes. I started to jog forward with my backpack but I saw their reverse lights come on; they were coming to me. I got off the shoulder cause they backed up with an uncomfortable amount of speed. The temperature was in the upper 40s, which I thought would mean an easy trip. The typically overcast early morning sky looked like it might spit a little rain hither and yon, but I expected to have caught at least one ride before any heavy rain started.
