A Less Mountainous Ste-Margo!

Jul 14, 2012 23:33

After some more struggling with SimCity 4 and HoodReplacer, I have managed to defeat the mountains and recreate (more or less) my previous topography!

Unfortunately, I'm not good enough with SimCity 4 to make fine adjustments, so once again, I have a map that's been heavily edited with the modifyneighborhoodterrain cheat. I think it's okay, though, since the major terraforming that required SimCity 4 has been done...

I also added a few roads to the original Middleground map-the two rectangles at the upper right-so there's another little district for the town to grow into.

And I placed a couple small residential beach lots in this little cove area. Not the world's prettiest shoreline, but let's call it some sort of beach sand management program...

At the end of the lane is (finally!) a building for Ste-Margo Public School. I'm not sure if I'll actually run the school with Inge's hacks, but the lot is by Plasticbox.

It got a fresh coat of paint and some bike racks out front, but the inside has been untouched for now.

The school, which serves all of the town's children, is right next door to Tabby's daycare. Convenient for afterschool programs and for parents dropping off kids of various ages. (Pictures like this make me think very seriously about downloading some default terrain replacements. The background hills just look so sad.)

Progress!
