It feels like so recently and yet so long ago. So much has happened in this past year. I had a wonderful senior year with my friends. I wrote an undergraduate ( Read more... )

Hey!
Bon voyage! I'm sure you'll have wonderful experiences in Samoa.
And congratulations on your GRE score! I still have to take it. I fear the GRE. Urgh.

Meggie, when Dad and I were going to Liberia I changed my mind about a week before we left. I thought "WHAT the heck am I doing? I can't do this!" By then all our friends knew we were going and I was too embarrassed to not go. We went, and it was a good thing I did. It was one of the most difficult and best things I've ever done in my life.

Courage, ma petite!

We spoke to Meg last night by phone and she seems to be doing well. The mosquitoes love her too much - the poor baby has lots of mosquito bites and needs to get her mosquito net soon. She's also going to begin waging a battle against mold. Shock and awe hardly covers the full-out assault she is going to launch.

She has been to town and has been able to make arrangements for dial up service from her apartment for the Internet. Hooray!

I'm so glad to hear that Meg (Clare) has arrived safely and is settling in. I can't imagine what the bugs must be like in a tropical setting! I normally arm myself with deep woods bugspray, but somehow I don't think that even the deepest woods in New Jersey can compare to the climate of the south Pacific. Well, Clare, I'm thinking about you; I can't wait until you get Internet access and I can give you full updates on Gilbert's adventures in Blairstown!
