A Beginning and an End

Yesterday, my best friend here, Linda, left. She’s finished with her volunteer service here and is going to another post in New Zealand. I’m going to miss her so much. She’s been gone just one day and I’m already thinking of stuff I want to tell her. She was such an awesome person and she helped me feel at home here in Samoa ( Read more... )

Congrats on your data-collecting job anonymous September 27 2006, 02:41:26 UTC
Hi!

I'm sorry to hear that your friends are leaving, but it was great to hear about all of your other news. Your description of how you redecorated your room reminded me so much of Drew and Friday Night Clubs spent in your dorm.

Speaking of Drew, I got an e-mail from Lois today with news from the library. Guess what? Sue left (I thought you would be interested to know that)...And can you guess who has taken her position? Kathy Juliano! I'm a little saddened to find that Sue isn't there anymore, but it's great that Kathy has joined the ILL department. I can't wait to go and visit. The interlibrary loan delivery guy comes to my library and occassionaly gives me a message from Lois, but I'd love to go and see everyone again. I just started my library science classes, which have reminded me so much of studying at Drew and researching with members of the reference department. Speaking of classes, I need to go and finish up some reading now. Congrats on your data-collecting job, and Gilbert says hello!

Love, TaraLynn

Hi sweetie pie...
First of all, a much belated but always sincere happy birthday from me. I bet being 22 isn't that bad...;)

Second, congrats on your awesome position as National Statistic Coordinator! This is a good thing...

I like how you deal with change. Perhaps I should look to you for advice when I have trouble with change.

You're simply lovely.

Hey Meg, I noticed you snuck in the part about having a painting you did. So you're doing some art? Good for you! It doesn't sound weird at all to me to have a plan of attack to make friends. When you're in a new culture everything requires more effort. Congratulations on identifying what you need and making a plan to help that happen. Just wishing for something doesn't get the job done.

Glad we had a chance to have a long chat last night, and glad the new caretakers sound so nice. Good luck in developing that relationship. Being kind to their children, especially during their transition will be greatly appreciated. Trust me on that one!

Love,
Mom
