This is Samoa

Hey!

Thank you so much for the post card of the nemos. I loved it and it's on my fridge. I'm glad you finally received my package. The postal service seems rather hit or miss over there. It's supposed to snow a foot here tonight! It's our first real snow storm of the year (and it's mid-February, damn global warming)
Love,
Jo

Bummer about the laptop. Hm, is it possible for you to order a surge protector? They make individual small ones for laptops that plug into outlets and then you plug your a/c adapter into that. What kind of outlets do you have over there? I can investigate the availability of a suitable one if you want.

Also-- at least for me, being in an apartment with no tv and no internets/computer was a good time to read things I normally wouldn't have the attention span to read. Don't know if that's something that would work for you, though, or if there's much reading material available.

It's amazing how hard coming back can be. Oddly for me coming back to guidimouni after the states was super easy while i'm kind of dreading going back after my Mali, Ethiopia, Agadez excursions. keep your head up girl.

also the part about the melting computer piece is especially funny/terrible cause you're living in the third world and when things go wrong they go extremely wrong and are impossible to fix. you have to laugh or cry
