Have had several discussions with complete strangers and old old friends on the subject of time and age.  A friend of mine and I had a very drunken discussion about the fact that a 60 year old woman is not really sixty years old at all.  She is 6, she is 16, she is 24, she is 60, all in one.  I think perhaps that men are this way, too.  The saddest ( Read more... )

I am a firm believer in the abstractness and elasticity of time. All those readings of quantum physics and mechanics along with Buddhist and Indian Vedic thought. But I also find immortality to be a point of view. Even the stars die. If I could, I'd love to be able to live long enough to see whether or not humanity ever becomes a true star-fairing species or the sun become a red giant. Perhaps I'm queerly romantic in that regard, but if you try to call me on it, I'll call you a liar.
