Interesting. I pretty well started limiting my telly intake to PBS and local news around 2004CE. My set died in 2006CE. We've not owned a television since. Our 'puter is used to watch the occasional film and I tend to stream PBS documentaries still, as well as from a few other documentary sites.
Other cats, family members, look at us all gobsmacked-like when we mention we do not own/watch television. It's vaguely amusing. What else is there to do, neh?
We read, listen to music, play games, hike, cook, talk to one another...
Although, one must admit to the irony of subliminal messages being shown to us in video images...;p
