Looks Lovely!

Since I am a mortgage Underwriter.... What made the Lender want to look more closely at the foundation? Is this a doublewide? Or did the Lender see the home inspection? Did the appraiser say something? I am just curious as it is not very common in our area to require a structural inspection unless something tips you off that there could be an issue. You can tell me it is none of my beeswax too!

It's a doublewide on a slab foundation. Frankly, even though it's in better condition than comparable stick-builts we've looked at, the fact that it's a manufactured has thrown up the occasional stumbling block along the way - as far as I can tell, this is just the next one. :-/

It's the location and property we're really buying. The house was almost besides the point, though it's nice that it's in good condition and bigger than our current home.

Yes, that explains it. I have not underwritten a doublewide in a while! And yes, some manufactured homes are better than a stick built. I have seen quite a few that I would be happy to live in.

Good Luck!!

Woot! Good luck getting this one all wrapped up. I remember how stressed I was buying this place, but it was worth it. :D
