BSC, Massasoit, CCCC, BCC: All these with the exception of Bridgewater, are community colleges. And Bridgewater isn't that prestigious. I don't see a reason to allign ourselves with BSC, except because of their close geographical proximity. If UMassD already has a higher profile, it should look to schools with corresponding profiles in order to enhance that, and not just try to be a big fish in a little pond. I think working with all these lesser local colleges will bring UMD down. It takes it even further away from just from its 4 other UMassese .

Quite frankly, this reminds me of 2 years ago. C'mon, you know: I'd post something, and you'd cantankerously decry it ( ... )

BSC has a much nicer campus.

UMD belongs in a list of community colleges, because generally community colleges are commuting schools, and the majority of UMD students are (at least were) commuters.

just b/c it's a commuter school doesn't put it on the same (lower) level with a community college. sure they have commuting in common, but c'mon. phd's are earned at umd.

yes, but look at the transfer rate/drop out rate of UMD.

i'd say the only thing that separates UMD from a community college is the price yo. community colleges are a butt load cheaper than UMD
