I really hope they bring Martha back, she had great spirit and made a great foil for The Doctor. I loved the camp and pure evil that was the master. He made me laugh even as I was horrified. I agree that Jack was wasted but damn he looked good in chains too. *shifty eyes*

The end scene with Ten and The Master was so slashy it almost hurt.

I think at this point I really just need to think about it and let my brain process because its stuck on losing Martha to another squeeing fangirl Rose Tyler clone.

As a side note I did love that Jack missed his team and the whole little vanity thing amused the hell out of me as did Jack as the face of Bo.

And a lizard.

That's the thing about Martha - you know the character is very intelligent, and she made a choice that made complete sense for her. The BBC says she'll be back mid-series next year - yay! And yeah, Jack looked good in teh chains. How long had he been there - a year? And then he just off and leaves at the end...I would have liked to have had a little more closure.

And OMG - Ten/Master is so canon now (kidding, but have you seen the sheer number of Ten/Master fics that have cropped up in the last few weeks? If nothing else, these three eps were awesome for that.)!

I'm hoping to see Sally Sparrow as the new companion. That would be cool.

And a lizard. Which reminds me - were you able to download/play that song?

*nods* The choice Martha made was completely in character with her and on that score I have no issues with her decision. It was more of a I don't want her to leave sulk. I'm really glad its no for good because she did do such a great job of being a foil for The Doctor.

*laughs* I've noticed the major influx of Ten/Master fics though I haven't been able to bring myself to read any of them yet. As much as I enjoyed the interaction I really don't need or want anymore details.

It downloaded but wouldn't play. I meant to mention it and got sidetracked.

What? You haven't read any of them? Some are good, some are bad. You can kind of pick out who's seen the old eps and who hasn't...my own little game when I read.

Well - that stinks. I tested it on a different comp and I got it to play, it's prolly hooked into the same iTunes account though, so maybe it recognized it or something. Are you able to play .mp4 files?

I'm completely with you on the WTF moments. It had some good moments, but it had some really strange ones too. Yay for Martha saving the day though! Finally! I was expecting a bit more from Jack. And the Face of Boe thing was unexpected. It completely screws with canon though since the Doctor didn't seem to notice that he was a fixed point in time, but oh well. That's Doctor Who for you.

And is it wrong that I giggled when the Doctor was holding the Master in his arms? It was just way too slashy for a serious death scene. I do think the Master will be back at some point. He's a much better villain than the Daleks, at least in the new series. Lucy picking up the ring... not quite sure where they're going to go with that.

And about Martha leaving... I have a feeling she'll be back. They left it open with the cell phone. I think she's just going to finish school while the Doctor messes around with the Titanic in the Christmas ep. And then she'll be back in the regular series.

I didn't actually notice all the Titanic references until ( ... )

Yup, there was good, there was bad, and there was flat-out WTF. For someone who is admittedly atheist, RTD really has the whole 'God' concept stuck in his head. And yes - the FOB totally screws with RTD's own canon! Maybe that's why it bothered me so much. At least they didn't make Jack a Time Lord - I was really worried it would turn out to be something like that...Jack in a watch, after missing two years of his life...yadda yadda yadda.

Yup - Martha will be back. Sounds like she'll be taking the Mickey Smith type of role and ringing the Doctor whenever there's a hint of alien invasion going on. I think RTD said in the confidential that he did the Lucy/ring thing as a dangling plot thread in case subsequent writers/producers/people in charge ever want to resurrect the Master. I think that would be implying that they are done with the character for now? Which is too bad - the character of the Master (when written well) is an awesome thing.

Didn't Nine say that he was 'clinging to an iceberg' or something like that after an ' ( ... )
