The Dance Party at the end of the world is becoming increasingly steampunk Lucy. Last year a few people were in the super science racket and this year pretty much everybody's backstory is going to start inching toward an alternate history sort of a bent where the martians invading is not wholly unexpected for pretty much anyone in the room. Considering this will be the third time some people have done it I figure that'll be pretty easy for them to play.

that's weird, because it's been increasingly on my mind over the last few months how awesome steampunk is (or at least, how awesome it would be if it wasn't so frequently executed in shitty Victorian goth fashion). in fact, my last two book purchases were The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and The Diamond Age.

You should look into picking up a comic called "The Five Fists of Science" It's about Mark Twain and Nikola Tesla trying to save the world with Tesla's giant robot.
