I was hoping to force some sort of aggressive G/W kithkin deck but the cards never showed up. I'm not sure if I was cut or if the packs were just weak. In the end, my build became a weird G/W control reactive deck...with crappy creatures.
I played against the lowest ranked player at our table (1528) running red/black randomness and I won game one when I shoulda lost. I played a turn one handservant, turn two handservant and not much else. I crib swapped one of his dudes, the he played two more giants for some reason, and my two handservants became 5/5s. He lost a few turns later after chumpblocking...with giants. Game two he cast Liliana early on and I couldn't outright kill it. He was in a losing position and instead of tutoring for answers he opted to force a discard each turn. I kept him below eight loyalty and the turn he decided to tutor, I was holding the Purity and I topped a sixth land to cast him and win.
Round two, my opponent is rated 1669 running UW merfolk. Game one he mulligans and I lead off with a first turn handservant, third turn kithkin lord, fourth turn harrier and end of turn ambush for two tokens. All he's cast is a fourth turn sniper which I kill when I cast surge of thoughtweft after he blocks an elf token. He concedes the following turn.
Game two I lead off with turn one handservant. I manage to consistently make my drops...as terrible as they are. He attempts to fight back late game, but not before I cast Purity. It hits him a couple of times and then he casts harrier to staunch the bleeding a bit. I'm holding two surges in my hand the entire game and I win several turns later with two alpha strikes backed by surges.
