After passing Summon 1st pick, I wanted to stay out of Merfolk. 3rd pick, I didn't see where I could go with Douser without fighting for Merfolk with my left neighbor or ditching Garruk, so I went with the splashable card that didn't put me in a third color. The late Spitfire and Flamekin Harbinger signaled Elementals, and I figured I could play G/R/u or adjust to R/U if I didn't see green. I didn't realize how little red I had until the end, so the mana was a little worse than I like because I had only a few red cards but needed the red mana early, but Spitfires make good use of excess late-game red sources. I was pretty happy with the deck, though I would've liked a cheap red removal spell or two.
I played against two 1700s players, one W/R Giants and one W/U Merfolk, and won both matches 2-0 with Smokebraider being huge, as I had it on turn 2 a lot with the Harbinger.
