A Samantha intro!

I'll open by explaining that this is all Ryss' fault.  It usually is.  ;)

Hi, I'm Rach, and I'll be playing Samantha, from the "Sins of Omission" episode of Burn Notice.  If you haven't seen the penultimate episode of Season 2, the shorthand version is that she's Catwoman and used to be engaged to Michael Westen, except that she doesn't run around ( Read more... )

*claps hands* Oh, this will be fun. :D Welcome to the game! I'm Fi's mun. I need to rewatch that episode- did she have a son? Or was she lying about it? Man, I can't remember. I'll rewatch it sometime this weekend.

Looking forward to threading with you!

She does indeed have a son, and his name is Charlie. The lie she told was about his age: she claimed he was 9 at first, which (not unreasonably) led Michael to suspect that he might be Charlie's father. Once Michael saw Charlie for himself, he estimated Charlie's age to be about 7, taking himself out of the running for the Charlie's Daddy sweepstakes.

(But don't let that explanation stop you from rewatching it! It's an awesome episode.)

Welcome to the game!! I'm Missy, currently munning Sheila and (in less than a week) Cheryl from the Army of Darkness/Evil Dead franchise, and co-mod.

I can already see Sam's gonna be a fun one ;) Sheila's lucky enough to own much of value (she works retail and basically came to the present with the clothes on her back and nothing else). she's got one piece of precious metal to her name and it's probably not something Sam'd want, once she'd find out what it means to Sheila *can spoil you for this in email, as it links into Halloween plot*). She and Fi are pretty much BFFs, so she's gonna end up getting caught between her loyalty to Fi and her tendancy to try to get along with everyone (until they piss her off/unless they have wronged her badly).

So looking forward to threading with you!

Yeah, Sam's going to be pretty careful about what she steals from people in the Fin, especially once she realizes Michael's there. Basic criminal psychology, really: she distinguishes between where she lives and where she "works," with a bit of a buffer zone between the two. Poor Michael is likely to be the one who keeps getting his wallet (or watch, or cell phone) lifted, because picking Michael's pocket is Samantha's way of flirting with him.

*nodsnods!* that makes sense! I love all of the forethought you're putting into Sam here :)

Bwah, I'm so looking forward to this! And to the Michael/Sam flirting.

BTW, how will you be playing Sam's being sepparated from Charlie? I'm curious.

Oh, I've got a plan for that. I went back and forth a bit, because separating a mother and son is a pretty serious decision, but OTOH if Charlie came along with her, I'd have to keep treating him as a NPC (which would get old very quickly), plus we'd be risking a lot of "child in jeopardy" stories (which would get old incredibly quickly).

I'll give a couple of hints here: it's based on what happened with Charlie by the end of "Sins of Omission," and it's playing fair with the game rules regarding communication.
