It is a good thing that I broke out the sewing machine-I can see it will be needed.

I finished making a cotton house coat (fabric $16, buttons $4, pattern $2.95, already had the thread.) This occurred because the only house coats I could find (in decent quality cotton,) started at $55 and went up sharply from there. Although the buttonholes were not ( Read more... )

I've been contemplating some sewing projects, too. Haven't sewn seriously for more than a decade. For starters, I'm finishing up some quilting projects I started YEARS ago, then I plan on making a garment or two. I suck at buttonholes, though.

I got this machine about two years ago. One doesn't need a buttonhole attachment any longer-it's a snap on presser foot. I need more practise with it but it really does simplify life.
