who I saw tonight...2,3 and 4
Tonight I saw three bands at The Mosque, which brings my total up to...4 so far for the year:( Quite a ways to go to see 100. Here's a quick recap before I go shower and crawl into bed.
Sore Eyes opened...they were okay. The lead singer was a dork, or came off like one. Unfortunately it looked like he was trying to hard. They had some issues with sound levels at the beginning of their set that did get resolved. Their sound overall was a little eh...not enough appeal for me. I think I'd have to see them again to really determine what about their sound seemed lacking to me.
Next up was Automatic Fire who I actually got into pretty well, enough to spend $5 on their EP. Their lead singer didn't come off as trying too hard, he seemed to know how to work the crowd. They played some stuff that was heavy enough to get the crowd jumping along and I liked their lyrics. I started screaming during their set:)
Shinedown was the headliner and they played a very tight set. I definitely got into their heavier stuff, but I have always liked a song with a good driving beat and they didn't disappoint. I couldn't at this moment tell you what exactly they played because my brain is in the downward slide. I enjoyed myself a whole bunch. Screamed myself hoarse and was apparently deafening to others :D A couple of guys complimented me on my lungs while jiggling at their ears, I consider that a sign of a good show.
