I haven't managed to update on my band list in a while, so here are the next several that somehow went unmentioned...
Social D- local rack band, put on a pretty good show and kept the crowd involved.
Misfits cover band- awesome show, lots of fun
Gruesome Twosome!
Alice Cooper-this is a man who can still rock!! high energy show with lost of sons to scream along to, didn't get to enjoy this as much as I would have liked as the pit was vicious and I was mainly trying to stay upright:(
Rob Zombie-another high energy show. lots of songs I knew the words to scream along to:) The pit wasn't as vicious for this set so I did actually get to see the whole show. At one point Rob came out and walked across the top of the barrier. He was wearing super holey jeans and this little loincloth/kilt thing over them, and J looked up in time to discover that he plays commando...hehehe. Apparently not the view she wanted!
After the Gruesome Twosome show I used my ticket to get into another show for free and saw a little bit of The Boogeymen's set, but they're not being included in my count at this time because I'm gonna go see them play a big show in KC in October. The band after The Boogeymen were Koffin Kats-fun rockabilly, blues/punk. put on a pretty good show. they had a slap bass that the lead singer could actually get some pretty good tone out of rather than just the slap.
Last night...
Ghost Dance-definitely more garage band, not always in tune. they started their last song with this sweet blues riff and I was enjoying it until they started howling into their mics. Literally howling! Owooooo and shit! This wouldn't have been bad except that they couldn't seem to pick a key between the three of them and it made my head hurt:(
The Spites-I finally got to see them!! Apparently they are a metal band now?! I rocked out through their whole set! It's always nice to see a new band that you haven't really heard any of their stuff and thoroughly enjoy wearing yourself out :DDD
Bug Girl- two piece from Down Under. They rocked out hardcore and kept it entertaining which impressed me 'cause of the whole only two members thing. Clinton Spence on drums with backing vocals and Amber Spence on guitar with lead vocals. Seriously awesome set! It was one of those shows where you leave thinking,"Oh God I want to do that again!"
I really didn't stop moving during the last two sets last night so I am paying for it at the moment, but it was worth it!!!
