long weekends are awesome. until about this time sunday evening.

THURSDAY: late start was nice, got to sleep a bit. we had this awesome guest conductor in band, some guy from umass who was really chill, that was fun. then i found out that we're doing "urinetown" for the musical this year. honestly, who names a musical that? it's a complete turn-off from what is really a decent musical. i've listened to the cd and the music is great except all they talk about half the time is pee. i dont know, maybe some people find that funny, to me its just disrespectful and impolite. third grade stuff, not high school stuff. the musical is about a town where there's a water shortage so everyone has to use public restrooms and then the corporation that runs the town starts charging money to use the restrooms, so you have to pay to pee. and there's a civic rebellion, and the young leader of the rebellion falls in love with the corporation owner's daughter, and all that jazz. we'll see if it'll be any good, but with a name like that, i'm pretty skeptical. so anyways, after school i played some intense kickball then hung out with tom and milo for awhile. we collected some canned food for the survival center and watched some ski movies. skiing's gonna kick ass this year, i can't wait.

FRIDAY: woke up at tom's house, chilled there for awhile, collected some more food. parents swung by to get me then we headed down to springfield so my mom could get her post-surgery cast taken off AND so we could look at pool tables. that's right, we're probably getting a pool table. it's gonna be sweet. it's just gonna be one big christmas present that we all give to each other, and we wont get anything else. i'm so pumped. anyways, then i headed back to amherst for the football game, which was mad cold and crappy. we only played the national anthem then messier wouldn't let us play anymore cause we might kill our instruments. just as well. team didn't do so hot, but what else is new. got home and watched west side story on dvd, which only made me more upset that we're doing a musical called urinetown. seriously, the amherst schools are messed up. we can't do west side story, one of the greatest musicals ever written, but nobody cares if we do a show called urinetown that was only written five years ago and is about peeing for crying out loud. alright, enough ranting.

SATURDAY: slept in a bit, then did some yardwork with my dad for awhile. then just chilled around the house being lazy for most of the afternoon. went into town around 5:30 for some bueno with andrew and jeremiah before heading off to the volleyball game at hcc. western mass finals. it was a great match, but we lost in five games. completely killed my voice cheering, but it's all good. school spirit ain't that bad really. left the game and came back to amherst. stopped by the xc party for a few minutes on the way home, but realized i didn't really want to be there. came back home and watched remember the titans instead.

TODAY: went to church, but ended up raking leaves for elderly church members. went to confirmation class, then helped set up for the big church fair on saturday. finally came home and did some more yardwork. and now i must get to my homework:
- 20 lines of latin translation
- studying for latin vocab quiz
- bio essay outlines
- bio extra credit project (which i obviously won't end up doing)
- journalism reading
- math sheets

ugh.
