After reading all of this year's MtYG stories I thought I'd share
some recs:
Seeing You Again For the First Time - Chris/JC
This story has just about everything I love most about this fandom: spot-on characterizations, amazing dialog, some fabulous snark and so much love. It's amazingly well written and just all kinds of fun too!
You're The One For Me, You're My Ecstacy - Chris/JC
Chris and JC go on a Backstreet Boys Cruise. Seriously, how can anyone resist, that? Reading this story was just so much fun!
The Pussycat Monologues
- JC/Lance, AJ/Nick
I have no words for this story. Well, it does have an absolutely perfect cat, and then there's JC who's just amazing. Also Lance, AJ and Nick are pretty damn perfect too. Really just an incredible and incredibly funny story!
Eldorado - AJ/Brian
This is an amazing AU that impressed me a whole lot with its well written and amazingly vivid details. The story itself is just wonderful, and while this isn't a pairing I'd normally read it just worked so well for me. Amazing!
This Will Destroy you - AJ/Brian
Well this one almost did destroy me. It's heartbreakingly beautiful, the writing is absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't not love AJ here. I also couldn't not love Kevin - there's this one small scene with AJ that was just utter perfection. Seriously, this is one absolutely gorgeous piece of writing!
Five times Howie didn't lose it - Howie/Kevin
I fear the fb I left for the writer of this story was a little incoherent but rest assured: my incoherence comes from a place of love. This is more than just a (most wonderful) look at Howie and Kevin together, and it just feels so incredibly real. Beautiful!
The Boyband Spirit - Howie/Kevin, Chris/Nick
This is a lovely walk down memory lane with Nick, and the Chris/Nick is just great. But I will admit to being all about the Howie/Kevin here - it's how I enjoy Kevin most: humorous, affectionate and comfortable around and with his boys!
Nothing Says Love Like A Pinecone In Your Seat (Or A Frog In Your Pocket) - Brian/Chris
Oh, man, where do I begin. It's one of those brilliantly funny stories that you just have to read to know what everyone is on about. So, go, read. You won't regret it!
