Mun's note: This particular scene takes place about two-three days after a rather unexpected conversation with a certain senator. But as OC/AU as this is, one has to understand the fact that for Anakin the sun rises and sets with Padme. If she asked him to give her the universe he'd do everything in his power to do it without hesitation ;)

The doubt still lingers, as does the fear. He no longer cares what the emperor could do to him, in truth it couldn’t possibly be any worse then what his former mentor and friend has done. But he fears for her safety and what the emperor would do if he learnt of her existence or worse of their unexpected conversation. Even worse he fears himself and what he is capable of doing, if he isn’t strong enough to overpower the demons within. It is for this reason he hesitates as long as he does before sending the much anticipated message to his angel. He knows she has been expecting his reply for the past week now; but when she is not around the darkness is far more enticing and the struggle within that much more difficult to conquer.
Ever since their paths had been separate that fateful day long on Mustafar not a moment would pass when her memory didn’t linger in his thoughts. To see her alive and safe filled his shattered heart with a joy he had long since forgotten. He promised her that he would not fail, but it is just so easy to ignore the gentle promises, the soft whispers of hope that echoes in his mind; to cling onto the rage and hatred that had become so much a part of him that he almost feels lost without it. But then the image of her smile flickers into his thoughts along with the weight of her words and confusion once more sets in. No matter what he chose to do it would involve betrayal. He had not patience for traitors and even though he knows his master had lied to him about Padme’s passing; even though he knows deep down he is the one who brought all this pain into his life he struggles to let go. He saved him when no one else would, when even his best friend stood by and watched as he was consumed in flames, before turning his back and leaving him for dead. He owed the emperor his life, but if he hadn’t become his apprentice would any of this have come to pass?
But then his thoughts as they always do turns to her, to his beautiful angel who could light up the heavens with but a smile. Once his thoughts settles on her the Sith Lord’s resolve becomes complete. She believed there was still hope for him and it is for her that would not fail. He made a promise that he would not back down, that he would try at the very least for her.
Closing his eyes briefly he calms his nerves and quietly activates the scrambled channel. For all intents and purposes the message itself would be difficult to locate, and even if it was it would not lead back to him. Still he is careful to cover his tracks and ensure that no trail could lead back to Padme or himself. The information he sends isn’t extremely classified or overly vital but it is a definite beginning and would certainly leave a dent in the great war machine that is the Empire. He knows he can’t just give any piece of information as it would raise too much suspicion as to where Padme had received this information. He didn’t want to place her in a position that would raise suspicion amongst her compatriots or where this information would come from. But it is a start and as soon the message is prepared and the information has been properly encrypted he finds himself hesitating to push the final button that would unleash the message to Padme.
It is a small step one that he never imagined he would ever be taking and yet he knows it will be the catalyst that will change everything in both his life and the lives of so many. All he had to do was push the button and take that the next step to a new beginning, a second chance.
A momentary pause, a silent prayer to the force that it would arrive in the right hands safely and then with a hand that trembles so slightly it isn’t noticeable to the naked eye, it is done.
Elsewhere many miles away a highly encrypted message arrives for Padme although in place of her name it is addressed to a Nepthys and is from Set(h). But while this may appear unusual or strange to most, the sender seems to know the receiver will understand the chosen names. As only those who are very familiar with Tattooine culture and mythology will realize that they desert deities. As one represents comfort and peace for troubled spirits, the other chaos and battle. The rest of the message also is highly metaphorical, riddled even but it carries with it the information she would need to offer the rebellion movement. As well as a possible meeting place should she wish to make contact though the option is open. But finally should she read between the lines it also carries a hidden message of affection and love.
