My preceptor remembered my pager today... so now I'm a slave to the pager--boo! Guess it's preparation for what's to come when I enter the real world...

Crazy busy week... I love peds surgery, but at the same time, the way the contract group works here is insane... it's so MM I can't even explain it. So I think I like ONE of the THREE preceptors I have. They still won't teach me to do anything, so I'm a lil frustrated. D2 came and stayed the weekend at my apartment. Friday night we went out in Downtown Denver. There is definitely a lot to do, but both bars/clubs we went to had crappy DJ's and dancing was so freaking slutty. So for the past week or so I've been moving from Indiana to Denver, CO. Drove with my boy from Indianapolis, through Illinois, to St. Louis. Online class--sucks! Don't have a teacher that doesn't have AIM typing skills (ie. mad fast fingers) teach a class online. He asks a question, we all reply quickly, he thinks we don't reply and is in the middle of trying to type out the answer to his question, while everyone is answering, thus we all go on repeating the same thing over and over. Finally had a case today. Got to run it with the chief. He's my favorite to work with. Got the good perfusionist, good surgeon who was training the new surgeon, so you'd figure we'd be done quick... 3 hours on bypass, 6 grafts and 4 endarts later... Long day for one case. It's been so slow lately at work. I hate waking up at 5am just to be told that the cases that were on got cancelled for some reason.
