The point of the Say Yes Challenge was to make myself more aware of the obstacles and narratives I use as blocks to considering or being open to new options. Discerning the patterns in my behaviour and motivations is one thing; understanding better how I keep pushing myself down old and well-trodden paths instead of exploring new options is a different issue entirely. So, to some extent, the Say Yes Challenge will continue, but I think the underlying key to 2014's Year I Make It All Work is coming to understand what balance looks like for me, and why I frequently avoid it. This is, of course, going to be complicated by the previous commitment to a four month show schedule in the spring, but that's just part of the challenge. Saying Yes to balance might be the key to making it all work, and it might not be; odds a re good I won't really know until I'm writing next year's throne speech and have a year's worth of perspective on which to look back in contemplation and reflection :)

Standing ovation! 2013 was hard but totally with it. Also, hooray for not being dead.

Yeah, I've decided I'm a fan of not-dead, too.

Change is not easy. Recognizing change is also not easy. Glad this is not such a dark place after all.
