I went to see his George Gershwin Alone when it first came out, my senior year at Brandeis, and I thought it was great. (I also wound up singing "Someone To Watch Over Me" onstage, which was unexpected.) So I'd been wondering about this one, and I'm very glad to hear it's also good. Yay. If you do go, I'd be very interested to hear about the differences between the two plays.

As it is, I've having to restrain myself from quoting from the Playbill at length, or theorizing about the varied ways he used the music within the play.

Partly I didn't want to in the main entry; partly because I always prefer to discuss things with people after they've seen the movie/play themselves; and mainly because I'm leaving for Stamford in ten minutes. :) I might yet come back and re-comment to you, with my thoughts.
