I screwed up every possible, good thing I've got going for me.

I know this is a really bad thing to vent about, but I know no robotics kids read this, and I know this is my journal and am entitled to write whatever the heck I want.

The truth is
My immaturity level has just increased 9,458,365,029 times.

Excerpts from emails written directly to me today from several students, all of these sent to over 50 people to read:

I argue it was your fault Tammy. You set up the F&F night and you had
over 2 months to make sure the projector and everything would work.
You had the animation team running around trying to cover your butt in
trying to make the setup work. Two months Tammy. You had that long to
make sure that stuff would work.
(Well first of all, I had less than two weeks, second of all, I didn't have access to the projector until the day of because you need keys to get to the system, and third, I didn't send the animation team trying to setup, I asked Zach because I am technology-retarded and he pulled one of the animation kids.)

I don't need to have one [meeting] with someone who can't look back upon herself...

Tammy just comes in babbling about how we are taking up mechanical time and all... Then Tammy sends us off saying that we couldn't show our video at F&F night.

You failed us Tammy. If you had gotten that stuff together, we would have had a nice presentation in front of all the Friends and Family of Robotics.

Here's my email that sparked it all, copied straight over without any changes for LJ:

When I watched the actual animation on Monday, the first thing I
noticed was that the sentence that first flashes across the screen
doesn't make sense. As the animation progressed, I had a very
difficult time understanding what the concept was behind the
animation. I agree with Kevin when he says that maybe the details
(the look of the horse and waterfall or the grass) were very
carefully done, but overall, I felt that the message and the skating
horse were not very appealing.

Now here's my deal with the animation team. I really wanted to sit
down and have a discussion with you guys, and Rob and Phil, but I
haven't seen the entire animation team at a meeting together since
last Saturday and chances are, we won't all be in one place for
awhile.

I've very disappointed with the animation team this year and the type
of relationship I have with you guys (especially with the F&F Night
stuff. I let you guys know 1 1/2 to 2 weeks before Saturday that I
thought it would be nice for you guys to present for 5 to 10 minutes
at the F&F Night. I also felt that I had made myself clear that I
wasn't requiring the actual animation itself, just something visual
(storyboard, pictures, clips, collages) and a well prepped
speech/explanation. Since the day I told you guys I wanted you to
present, every meeting I saw you guys, I got complaints and excuses.
I might have pushed to hard, but while the robot presents what the
team has done, I felt that it was important for the right people to
be recognized from every part of our team.

On Saturday, I wanted to hold a rehearsal with everyone who was
speaking for that night (Matt, Zach, Lindsey, Steve and Brad, and
animation). I got a lot of "the visual will be ready in half an
hour, we'll be ready to rehearse in 10 minutes, our team will be
ready in 5 minutes as soon as ____ happens" Saturday night itself
during the 10 minutes I offered to your team to say, show, and
present whatever you wanted, there was very little prepared visually
and verbally. What upset me the most was what happened later that
night. When the speaking part of the night was done and my
presentation was running and the robot was running, you wanted to
then present your animation (which you guys still weren't sure if it
would work or not). Like I said, I think I can fairly say that I
gave you guys a decent amount of time to say, show, and present
whatever you wanted earlier in the "show", and I felt disrespected
that you guys wanted to take down my presentation and the spotlight
of the robot to try again.

I feel that the 6 of you guys are capable of doing a much better job
wherever you are working (at school or home) even when playing
against time limits and all other pressures dealt with. I'm
ultimately baffled because I tried to have your team to receive some
time to shine outside of the robot at the presentation, and I didn't
get the energy back in return.
