Most kids don't usually look forward to getting braces. The process is guaranteed to be painful, takes place in an over-reclined chair which probably wouldn't have been out of place at a party thrown by the Marquis de Sade, and inevitably involves multiple individuals sticking gloved fingers and metal instruments in your mouth. Glad you liked. I dunno whether I should be embarrassed or not that, as I told kagomeshuko, I hadn't even seen the Urban Dictionary definition. Still, being MTA, I obviously like my definition better. *grin*

Thank you! I wouldn't say excited... I think she's still glad she has them, but the pain caught her a little unprepared. Luckily, one of Sarah's friends had braces in the past, and she got to compare notes with her. It always helps to have someone to share the experience with.

I like how the prompt was really just a tiny but necessary part of the story, and the rest was the weirdness of how your family is sometimes Not Like Other People.

I wanted braces as a kid, to tame my 'fangs'. Getting four teeth pulled was what was really necessary for that, and then the rearranging.

Clavage. I actually think your daughter had that coming. :D

Um, are you trying to say that my family and I are weird? LOL

Yeah, the dentist thinks that Amanda will probably have to have three teeth pulled as well, but he wants to wait until the braces have pulled some of them down before they get taken out.

Yeah, I was scrambling to come up with something as a comeback for her critique of my poor clothing style. I think I did OK.
