I spotted the purple backpack the instant I walked through the front door. It was lying across the foyer from me, half on and half off the first step of the staircase leading upwards, as though it had been shrugged off by someone who didn't much care where it fell.

This was fun! I kind of felt sorry for Jeff. Hayden seems like a little bit of a tool. Their relationship felt very believable, though, and I liked that Jeff still looked out for his brother (even if it was in a teasing way) and felt bad about scaring the girl.

Actually, you were one of the Flisters I was thinking of regarding Jeff, Hayden, annd their mixed history. Remember that guy that sent me a random text years ago looking for a girl named Melissa, and then wanted my picture? LOL

Thank you! The garage door trick was my way of softening that whole scene a bit, so that it was more about the joke than Jeff barging in. Plus, it was fun to write. :)
