Please, please try not to hate on all Californians? Lots and lots and lots of us voted NO on 8.

And it sucks that we failed.

I can't explain why.

But we're not all "disgusting, filthy bigots." I know that you didn't say that we all were, but...

It just makes me sad.

Because it's a horrible reputation to have, and we're not all in agreement with the stupid proposition.

Well, I won't be able to attend, but my thoughts are definitely with all those of you who are protesting. I really, really hope something will change soon.

Unfortunately, a family friend had come into town for the weekend, so we could throw her a baby shower. And I COULDN'T skip it.

But I thought about the protest the whole time.

I'm also sad to realize that I really don't think that the protest will make any difference. Which doesn't mean that I wouldn't have gone. I'm just sad that it takes so long for change to happen. And I believe in the protest, and that the stupid proposition is hateful, but...

I'm just feeling very defeated about it all.
