After reading a short discussion regarding this picture, I came by and did see the picture before it was deleted. The artist is extremely talented.
I note that many of the posters point out that they're parents or loving relatives who kiss children. Well, me too. But what I noted about the picture was the body language. When I kiss one of my sons, it's a straightforward, face-to-face, 'pucker-up' kind of fun kiss. The body language is nonsexual.
In the picture, Frodo's head is tilted and so is Sam's which suggest a prolonged intimate kiss, not a 'hello, little fellow' kind of kiss. The body language suggested to me that it was a kiss of a sexual nature.
It's my understanding from what I have read by backtracking this picture that it was created as a request for a story involving a plot where Bilbo and Sam's father are attempting to keep them apart. It's slash, if I understand correctly what I read in the summary. In my opinion, if that is the case, then the kiss being compared to parents kissing their children is a flawed argument.
For most Japanese, why the picture (that I deleted) that I had drawn became a problem will not be able to be understood. And, I do not understand either. I was not putting any pedophilia meaning in that picture. The reason that I had directed "click the thumbnail" was simple, that picture was kiss picture. (doing of a lot of artists so) And, I was not putting a sexual meaning in the kiss. My having wanted to express it is gentle affection. However, I understood there was a sensitive issue in the Westerner about the kiss of the adult and the child. I want to esteem the issue, and redrew the picture. (They are not kissing, and they are hugging) I hope for the conclusion of the discussion by this entry. Because the picture that became the origin of the discussion doesn't exist. And, I wish sincerely to express my gratitude to everybody who gave a kind comment to me. Thank you very much.
I did not see the first picture, and I hope I am not intruding by commenting now, when you have asked to close the discussion. But may I please leave feedback? (comment on picture, not a further comment on the discussion)
You draw very beautifully. It is wonderful to have such a talent. Thank you for posting the new picture.
I hope you won't mind one more comment, Rei, but I know how you must feel at being attacked for something innocent. I was once attacked for writing pedophilia (when no one in my story was under the age of 27!). Some people just see it everywhere because it is in their minds.
In some Western sub-cultures (and I use that term because they don't represent all or even most Westerners), people have been educated since childhood to fear and condemn anything that doesn't conform to their tiny little, arbitrary world-view. Sadly, they were taught that only they know "the truth" and no one else in the world has a right to live their lives another way. I think they are to be pitied but certainly not listened to. They are merely ignorant and their thoughts are not important.
I am so sorry for your hurt but I do hope you will heal and learn to ignore these people. I ignored the ones who wrongfully accused me and have no association with them. Since then, LJ and my friends have brought me much joy and love--a million times more than

I thought it was a lovely picture, and I'm very sorry you got insulted for it. Some people just have dirty minds, and will see something bad no matter where they look. I think the original was beautiful!
And Rei, did you take down your other picture site? I looked today and saw it was closed. Are you going to open another one? I hope so!
Your art is excellent and you have an amazing talent. Please do not be discouraged by posts who claim paedophilia. The original was indeed beautiful. I am English and cannot understand why some people are so ready to see wrong in these things. My answer to them-if you don't like it, don't look at it but do not police anyone else's rights in the process.
You do not need to apologise to anyone for your ideas or posting something they chose to complain about. Good luck to you.
I thought the old and the new pictures are adorable and beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talend with us. All the entries of your LJ are a joy for my eyes.
