Fic: HH Drabble

Mar 19, 2010 12:37

See, this is what happens when all my DVDs are packed away where I can't get to them. This drabble (exactly 100 words, woooo!!!) is supposed to be pick up from Retribution in the infirmary, after that oh-so-inadequate line from Horatio.

As always, comments are greatly appreciated.

I'm almost glad that Horatio's final words to Archie were oh-so-inadequate because they have sparked so many beautiful fics, including this one. This is heartbreaking and perfect. Thank you.

Thank you!

Sorry for taking so long, I temporarily mislaid my brain.

Every time I watch Retribution I'm disappointed by Horatio in the courtroom scene and the infirmary scene. Or should that be Ioan Gruffudd?

*sigh* I know. I suspect IG did the best with what he was given but he wasn't given much to go on. Still, like I said earlier think of all the wonderful fic that these scenes have generated, yours included.

Btw I hope you'll post this to following_sea, it's a little gem.

Thank you!

The seed for this one was a line in another fic about Horatio kissing still lips. And it grew from there.

This really is a much better ending to the death scene!
The "Thank you" is so touching. I wish Archie could hear it. *sigh*

Wonderful fic. I can absolutely see that happening, and I could feel Horatio's pain.

As for the controversy of Horatio's last words...I think Horatio was so overwhelmed by what Archie had just done, that he wasn't able to think of anything else.

Furthermore, Horatio's not one to show emotion, especially in front of others (even if a) he really cares for them, and b) they're dying). In my own personal canon, Horatio kept the pain inside until after Pellew promoted him. Then this happened:

That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Once again, awesome story. It's great how so much can be said with so few words.
