I'm getting mad at myself...I need to get creating again. I need a read hard kick in the ass to get going on s new series of work and I think the problem I have is that I feel the need to do series. And YES on your idea to just paint. Sometimes just writing a scene that I know I will never even be able to use is what it takes to kick start me into writing the next story or novel.

Ditto for writing. The idea of a manuscript is OVERWHELMING, but I can write the poems that come and see what the pile looks like later.

What a load of BS. Series are good for attracting curators. It's easier for them to write up stuff than if it's an eclectic mix of things. It's really unfortunate that you were told that. Ignore it I say.

Also who's to say it isn't the start of a series. That's not important. Try stuff that suits your fancy at the time and make art.

Do you set yourself goals? Such as make at least one piece per month?

Excuse the intrusion, but I've just stumbled across your journal via bg thomas. When you say Druer, do you mean a woodcut?

no intrusion at all. He was know for his woodcuts but he was also a fantastic painter. You should look up his paintings, especially his selfportraits
