Distance is an interesting thing, and Google Earth is one of the best programs I've ever installed on my computer.

I can drive to See Yin in Edmonton, which is roughly 290 kms away from my city, Calgary. It takes me 2 to 2.5 hours to get there, and I can often cruise for half an hour at 160+kph. Back in the Philippines, Baguio is only 240 kms away ( Read more... )

"Why is it that things seem so much farther apart back in the Philippines?" Harharhar =p Literally speaking though, here in Japan, 85kms (Manila to Tagaytay) is just a 15 minute train ride away (the cheap train). It's the sucky infrastructure back home, I swear to god it's terrible. I guess that's why I rented a house that was a 10 minute walk from school -- so i could conveniently ignore the absence of decent infrastructure.
