Music Issues

It's been a while since I've shed an actual tear, but I've recently taken to having these 30 second semi-crying spells where it's oh-so-close to happening. Then I'm over it and I'm amused with myself. Let's talk about something else ( Read more... )

May they get the worst song EVER stuck in their heads until it drives them insane. (I'm thinking the Westlife version of "Uptown Girl.")

That Westlife song was on one of our Toys R Us tapes, so I heard it every 3 hours for a month or so. Torture.

And umm... did you just say you were too scared to email me? :) Heavens, child! I'm the least scary thing on earth. For Pete's sake, The Wiggles are scarier than me. Then again, I think the Wiggles are scarier than a lot of things.

Yes, I have had many of those 'music nazis' for professors & teachers, plus I've noticed zillions of them in Boston whenever I go. Not just scenesters, music nazis. I'll admit, I feel like I'm close to being one sometimes, but one thing keeps me from it: consideration for other people's feelings. We all have different taste! What assaults my eardrums may be a walk in the park for another... So I don't just blatently say that something is horrible unless it is overly-commercial (and I don't mean 'selling-out.' I mean they started out already 'sold' and they were commercial darlings to begin with.)

As someone with good taste and passion, you have more excuses than most to be a music nazi. I'm glad you didn't think I was referring to you.

I have a feeling you're talking about my recent and overtly public disgust with Tori. I apologise. I am just way frustrated. LE through Choirgirl is still genius, though. Really. Wait a second, why am I apologising? I guess cause I don't want any negative feelings towards me coming from you. Not that that sentence made any sense.

Hmm... you're close. But my lunatic ramblings were inspired by something I read on a message board regarding Tori and some Amazon reviews of Paul McCartney & David Bowie. :) They were definately not meant specifically towards you. I respect your opinions far too much for that. When I read your thoughts, I wasn't disgusted. I only felt bummed. Like an 'aww shucks, she's moved on' sort of thing. You need not apologize for anything you feel. Frankly, I'm flattered (and a lil surprised) that you thought enough of me to both read and respond. You know I'm a fan of yours. And though I'd much rather be a friend, I will continue to root for you. There will be nothing negative coming from these parts, I promise.
