Baby, It's Cold Outside

I am so sorry, but I had to respond to your personal ad. I definitely don't fit in any where but I thought reading your profile was a riot! An absolute hoot! I felt as if after reading it I should pop a Prozac(sp?) or two....lol. ... Some people know just what to say. And you wonder why I'm a pessimist ( Read more... )

My favorite Christmas song is O Holy Night, but I can't find anyone good who sings it, besides the guy on the southern gospel station.

Thanksgiving was exciting for the green bean casserole. I can't muster up any cheer for Christmas except for the ham we have each year. I've finally come to that bitter, dead inside point where the idea of holidays themselves bring me no joy whatsoever. I think I'm about twenty years ahead of schedule. I can't imagine how black my soul will be by the time I hit forty. I've decided not to celebrate any more holidays until I have a boyfriend to celebrate with, something to fix the hole where my heart should be.

Sadly, we don't get the southern gospel station up here.

Btw, the best version of "O Holy Night" I know of is sung by Nat King Cole.

I'd say something like 'cheer up, you don't need a boy to enjoy the holidays' or something, but my heart wouldn't be in it. Suffice to say, I know what you're going through. Let's just try not to stab people come Valetine's Day.

My god. See, that's why you can't find anyone good. The ones who find you are insensitive beeyotches with verbal diarrhea. Yes, I know I'm a poet.

Wow, I had no idea it was called Green Friday. Thanks for yet another term to add to my arsenal.

I am both intrigued and intimidated by anyone who lists "sex" as an interest or hobby.
I agree, I just have not been able to find the words for it. They sorta make it sound like a casual thing that goes next to "knitting" and "riding bikes." I'm sure people still do a lot of swinging which would make sex a sortof hobby, I s'pose. I'll stick to bike-riding for now.

Shakespeare's got nothing on you, honeypie. :) Truthfully, I was amused when I read what that chickie wrote. Better to laugh...

You may also hear Green Friday called Black Friday. Despite all the money being exchanged, this title seems more fitting. Greed Friday, maybe.

After reading the last comment I re-worked my interests a little. So instead of just sex...it's non-casual sex. Cause it's definitely an enjoyable act, not going to lie, however it's not to be confused with a hobby (at least for me anyways) ;)

Aww, ain't nobody was judging you, I promise. Sex IS interesting. I'm very interested in sex, although I think I fall into the category that thinks it might be over-rated. But I'm sure that's just sour grapes. Heck, one of my all-time favorite LJ entries is all about sex. I'm just not sure I could ever list it as a hobby though.... mostly because I just ain't having it. :)

Well it is over rated...I think that whatever happens that leads to sex is the best part. ;)

And don't worry...you aint the only one. :P

sometimes it seems like something is missing, probably that "someone else"

yes. a feeling i'm all too familiar with. don't you think things would just be so much more enjoyable if you had someone to share them with? makes the holidays rather depressing. all of them. even like flag day.

and you're so not a knucklehead :)

Are you already dreading that 'holiday' in the middle of February?

Me too. :/

I think that I had sex listed as a hobby a long long time ago, but then realized it was completely ridiculous, and took it off. Oh so foolish...

It has literally been forever since I've talked to you. Thats quite unfortunate. I hope all is well, and i'll be looking for you online :)

Yes, next time we talk, we'll discuss all that sex that neither of of us seems to be having. As foolish and ridiculous as it may be, sex is an 'interest' for pretty much everyone. We shoud just punch everyone who's rubs it in that they're having it and we aren't.
