In the spirit of, but not the magnitude or profesionalism of, pitchforkmedia.com, I've put together a list of the top ten music albums released in 2006. These are soley based on my likes and dislikes, and not a standard in music set I'm sure by the RIAA. I will say this. good job hill. i still have not heard the strokes and koc solo efforts though, but i can whole heartedly agree with the lovliness of the others... i also loved takka takka's latest too.

I hadn't gotten the new Joanna Newsom album ... actually, I didn't know there was one until you posted this. But I bought it yesterday and I'm loving it. I thought "The Milk-Eyed Mender" was fascinating, but she's getting exponentially better.

Strangely, I was first introduced to her by my brother and he doesn't even research underground-type music or like a lot of independent musicians. I'm slowly converting him.
