Reality:

--The totality of all things possessing actuality, existence, or essence.
--That which exists objectively and in fact: Your observations do not seem to be about reality.

Why, when confronted with a new frontier in life, do we refer to it as being brought back to reality or scared back to reality?

According to the English dictionary (Which, I know, isn't much to go on) reality is the actuality of something.

To be Ignorant is to be unaware of reality, to be in another state of mind, that isn't reality.

If these states of mind are so real, then how can it be considered the unawarness of reality?
--------

What Is Real?

When a person watches movies or reads books that question reality and it's limits, people began to 'think outside of the box.' In The Matrix the main character is confronted with the idea that there is something out there other than the set confinements of such 'normal' life. He explores and finds this. In the book The Island the main character is confronted with the same idea, and finds a way out, physically.
Withouth taking value from said stories, I must inqure; what happens to the people that are looking for a way out, and never find it?

This question of just how far the limits of reality allow us to explore raises the matter of not only who is at liberty to gain this knowlege, but who is too ignorant to see truth on such exploration.

--------

Who Will Know?

No matter what you learn, there is always the thought that there is someone special out in the world, or that you're special. Though people favor the latter, they still wonder if there is a "Hero" out there to save us from whatever injustice is happening. A familiar character: Neo, though out for personal knowlege, became a hero in gaining that knowlege. This is, of course, from a movie. One should wonder, though... If movies are written by people, then where did the writer get this idea? Of course many of the modern-day ideas are rooted from older, more general ideas that have floated around, where did they come from?
Who in the world can make up the idea that we're all growned for battery-power?

---------

Why were humans gifted with Curiousity?

A curious question, indeed. Why were we gifted with Human-Curioursity? All other organisms (on Earth) were gifted with instinct. While Humans still ave basic motor skills to eat, live, and reproduce, we are driven.
In humans, there is a drive to do more than live, but to prosper in ways that require knowlege and skills past the basic phyiscal attributes we so love.
Humans are driven to live longer, live better, and succeed.

Success: Antonym - Failure

---------

Failure- Falling short.

In the life of a human, a main goal is to have questions answered. Though this urge is haulted later in life when another goal (that pleases people) is achieved, it's always a goal. This goal, before it diminishes, is key. Mainly in child-hood, people seem to ask many questions, many answered with lies, or not at all. The question of what something is, such as reality, can be answered with a lie subconciously.
In the job of succeeding to answer this question of such engimatity, to fail could be seen in many ways. If you give up on the quest, you've failed. If you search for it your entire life, you've failed. If when you die, your question is never answered, you've failed.
These failures, assuming that they come before the discovery of reality, are in abundance.
To allude to a well-known source, Peter Pan is a childhood story which people grow old and forget about, in disbelief. If people truely had an idea of what reality was then what are all of the side-stories along the way coming from?

---------

Are bed-time stories merely stories?

Humans, in their quest to fulfill the human condition of curiosity have ALWAYS created stories (folk-tales) to explain the unexplainable. Many times this has given the not-so-scientific answer, but an answer none-the-less. Many people would have given their lives in the belief of this. The ever-changing world of truth and fiction, gaining from each other, will, in the end, cancel itself out to create the Utter Truth.

---------

Utter Truth

In search for this Utter Truth, humans hope to disrupt things along the way, leave the 'world' we knew a little worse on the way out. We want to scare people back to reality.

---------

In The End

We will all leave this world knowing reality. In the end, nobodies question is unanswered, or left behind. After we give up, it slaps us in the face. Just when we think we've been looking for long enough, it drags us to the real world. When we've grown weary of the world we're used to, Reality pats us on the back and gives us a break.

Reality is the unconventional break between normal and abnormal. Reality is what makes us inviduals.
