In which I worked out how big my Lentil is...

So every week I get emails from babycentre.co.uk telling me what the Lentil is up to this week... and mostly Lentil is getting bigger now. It seems to be putting on around 150g a week, which doesn't really sound like a lot. So one of the ladies on my forums said she'd been for a growth scan with her twins yesterday and each one weighed 2lbs 2oz... ( Read more... )

150g a week is quite a lot - it's 3/4 of a pack of butter :)

It probably comes from all the biscuits I've been eating.

Or, if they're like me and my brother, they're born at ten and a half pounds. :-) For your sake, I'll hope Lentil is super healthy, but not TOO big! I've been away and have only just caught up - how are you feeling? Do you know the sex or are you waiting?

We're waiting to find out... like a proper surprise, though someone on the forums said it would only really be a surprise if you gave birth to a dragon! Which sounds cool, until you consider all the spikes!

Honestly how am I feeling? Better today but the last two days have been my own personal hell. You'd think not having periods for 9 months would be a blessing, all that PMT you're missing out on... Well it caught up with me the last two days and I've just sat in my PJ's and wept. I felt pathetic and grumpy and rubbish. I'm bored of being pregnant now. Getting to the stage (28 weeks tomorrow) where the bump is big enough to get in the way of almost everything, or being pregnant makes me too tired to do things anyway. Oh and then I feel guilty about being bored, and somehow that connects into the fact that I'm convinced I'll be a terrible mother. It's Zac I feel sorry for, having to cope with all this. He's been a SuperStar!

And you were a total SuperStar for him during his own personal hell, so I'd say that's a good relationship in work. :) I'm sorry you're feeling so crap, though. My mum once told me that the last stages of pregnancy seem specifically designed to make you fear the actual labour and birth part less, since by that time you're just over being pregnant. Which isn't the most encouraging thing to hear, but think how awesome it will be when you're holding your baby. To whom you will be an awesome mother. (Seriously - I think every pregnant woman in history has probably been bored, irritable and tired of her pregnancy at some point. No relationship whatsoever to awesome!mothering skills once Lentil is actually here). In the meantime, at least take advantage of being pampered! :-)
