Driving was better today!

Jul 31, 2008 10:31

My driving lesson was much better today, I have re-instated my faith in myself. If I drive on my test like I did today I should have no problems, I only made a couple of small mistakes, and they were small mistakes like forgetting to check my mirrors once and being in slightly the wrong gear once. And let's face it, even people who have passed ( Read more... )

Batman's voice was very annoying...

Thank you! That was what I hated about Batman Begins and why I have no desire to see this one... however good Heath Ledger is. It has Christian Bale. Doing THAT voice.

But why do people fancy Christian Bale? I've never understood it! *ducks from flying objects from various flisters* Maybe it's because the frist film I saw him in was Velvet Goldmine and I just can't get away from the awkward, gawky teenager, lol.

Hee! I have the most irrational dislike of Christian Bale. I can not place just what it is that prickles me against him. With most people I know what it is that irritates me. With him, it is completey and utterly irrational. I feel bad about it, because so many people like him but I just can't watch him.

Haha I'm glad it's not just me then. I thought Batman Begins was really boring, I don't understand why everyone else in the world loved it. But I did like all the other Batman films so I had to go and see The Dark Knight and I'm glad I did, it was worth the trip :o)
You don't actually hear Batman talking all that much so it doesn't give you enough time to get too annoyed!

I know what you mean about not liking someone irrationally, I have a dislike for Leonardo Di Caprio and I just don't know what it is about him!

I'm going to TDK this evening with the family - I felt very emotional about Heath just watching the trailer when we saw the new Indiana Jones film (I don't go to the pictures often).

I was just beginning to get a bit of a thing about the man - not as bad as for Ewan but I was quite fond - and then that happens. So it will be interesting to see how I react to this performance.

Good luck with the driving test. Milk and paracetamol on the morning of the test is supposed to settle your nerves gently. It can't do any harm (unless you're allergic of course lol)

It is a huge shame what happened to him, but The Joker is such an intense character and you can see how deeply he got into it, he did an amazing job, but it certainly wasn't worth his life :o(

I've never heard of the milk and paracetamol thing before but I'm prepared to give it a try if it'll help to calm me down :o) Thanks for the tip!

I didn't know that about Heath, I stopped reading anything about him because it all seemed morbid and sick and just so desperately tragic.

I know what you mean about Christan Bale - I don't fancy him one bit either! I think I need mean to either be totally intimidating or have a bit of razamataz and he hasn't had either in any of the roles I've seen him in. I do admire his acting skills though, he could teach Ewan a thing or two about accents :)

Good luck with the driving test! If you can manage to relax it will be over in no time. And then you'll be freeee! To drive as badly as you want like the rest of us ;)

It is so desperately tragic, I still can't believe it's happened and I can't believe it's been over 6 months already!

LoL you're right about Christian Bale's accents; I first saw him in Velvet Goldmine and then American Psycho and after that I didn't know whether he was really English or American as both accents were equally convincing; it turns out he's neither and he's actually Welsh!

Yes, if I can relax I know I'll be fine, but when I get nervous I make stupid mistakes :-S Perhaps I should take some Valium or something lol!

But he did spend part of his childhood in America... that helps with the accent.

I am sure you will do very well with your driving test, Shellie--- Do you have many more lessons?
It's usually after people get their licences that they start to drive crazy and not follow the rules!!!

I am not a "fan" of Christian Bale, but I know those that are, and they feel for him like I feel for Ewan.
I have only seen him in Velvet Goldmine, and I pretty much enjoyed his performance... He is very nice looking. [That was a strange film anyways, although I loved Ewan in it..]

BUT my heart belongs to Ewan...

I really don't see anything wrong with Ewan's American accents....America is a country with many accents of its own. It depends on where you are living....So I think he does just fine...
And if a little Scottish creeps in, that's OK.

*whisper* no I only have a few more lessons and a few more days until my test...my last 2 lessons have been great though, my instructor said if I was on my test I would have passed both times :o) Here's hoping I don't let my nerves get the better of me on the day!

LoL yes, Ewris is certainly a big fan of Christian Bale as it's where she got her user name from! :o) Velvet Goldmine was a strange film but I love it, it's my 2nd favourite Ewan film.

Ah yes, Ewan's own accent is definitely the sexiest of all the ones he does!

Yes, pam is a hugh fan of Christian and Ewan.
I am very happy that she is enjoying both guys.
I really only have time for one, and of course it's Ewan.

I enjoy watching Velvet Goldmine. Probably have watched it 20 times. I can't get enough of Ewan as Curt Wild....Great scenes.

I love when he sings Gimme Danger...So much heart and soul goes into that. I love that scene...And of course when he bares it ALL...
I often think that he much have been drunk when he did that scene.

I read the book about the making of Velvet Goldmine and he was supposed to moon the crowd, but he went for the whole enchilada..And they kept it in the film....
Soooooooooooo sexy and funny...

I get a kick out of the part where his agent is explaining that Curt lived in an aluminum trailer in MICHIGAN!!! Did you ever catch that line?

Sounds like you are going to pass your driving test with flying colors...
Just stay calm and everything will go great!!
Good luck, Shellie!!!

Yeah, I've seen Velvet Goldmine loads of times, it's strange, it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable, but I love the soundtrack and also, yes, Curt Wild is as sexy as anything!

LoL yeah I can't believe that it wasn't in the script, but he decided to drop his trousers anyway, so funny!

Nooo I don't remember the Michigan line, but I understand why you did! :-D Too cool.

Oh and yes, I did pass my driving test ;o) See my last 2 updates :-D *bounce*

Yey! I'm glad you had a positive experience driving today.
I haven't seen the Batman movie yet. I'm a fan of Heath Ledger so it will be a bit weird when I finally watch it. :/
As to Christian Bale, I find him quite handsome. :)

I had another good driving lesson today, here's hoping I'm on a roll and I've got all the nasty mistakes out of the way! :o)

Have you seen The Dark Knight yet? The Joker is a very dark and disturbing character and you can see how Heath submerged himself totally in the character. Definitely not worth his life, though :o(

Well I can't see Christian Bale's handsomeness, but each to their own, it wouldn't be any good if we all liked the same people :o)

*yay* That's awesome!
No, it will be one I rent. It's so sad what happened to Heath, I really liked him as an actor and person. Nobody will ever know what was going on in his head. I think it may have been an accident even though you have to wonder what was he thinking mixing those meds together. :(
Exactly! At least we can agree about Ewan :P
