No. 5, No. 23 and No. 56
That's right, during my week away I completed three more things on my 101 things in 1001 days list!
No. 5, ride the Cat and Fiddle on my motorbike.
Here's me standing outside the pub from which the route derives its name, with someone behind me just setting off for 6 miles of fun.
So that's proof that I was there...I did ride the route...at an average speed of about 30mph. ARGH bloody cars! Right at the start I got stuck behind the most cautious driver in the whole world and couldn't get past him as the whole route is full of blind hairpins. Every time I got to a place I might be able to overtake, there would be cars and bikes coming in the opposite direction. I was so annoyed, we'd travelled about 60 miles out of our way so I could ride that road and then I did it at 20-40mph. So annoyed...Pete had fun though, he had nothing in front of him *sigh*. Anyway, even though I barely leaned my bike over more than about 2 degrees, I can still cross it off my list as I have ridden the Cat and Fiddle...
No. 23, touch a cow.
So it was a field of small cows. You might try to tell me that it doesn't count because they're all half sized and probably couldn't kill me if they tried, but there were about 30 of them and I'm sure with a joint effort, they could have been able to trample me. OK so most of them were running away from me, but I touched a cow! No, I didn't touch a cow, I touched three cows, so three half sized cows make more than one normal sized cow so yes, I'm crossing this one off my list!
No. 56, successfully bake a cake.
I made 10 cakes! Chocolate muffins. They were a bit salty, but that's the recipe's fault, not mine. Next time I won't put any salt in and put more chocolate in them instead. They were generally a hit, though. Um, yeah, the photo's a bit rubbish. I blame my phone...sometimes it takes amazing pictures and sometimes I get stuff like this!
So that's another one crossed off, I've now completed 6 items from my list in only a month!
I have plenty of photos and writings to do about my week Oop North, that will come very soon. And yes...I am still trying to catch up with all your notes and diaries. Does anyone have any important pressing news they'd like to tell me in case I don't manage to catch up...? Any news with Maisie from Clara? Has Akemi managed to find some time to chill out? Are Liz's baby photos still keeping her away from us? (Happy Birthday, by the way! And thanks for the advice on my photos, I will reply properly!). Is Karen going to do an update soon? Also Karen, book your motorbike training and test otherwise, if you do it after October, the regulations will have changed so you'll have to do an obstacle course on an ice rink or something...so yeah, update me :o)
It seems I got so excited about the DVD release of Deception that I accidentally ordered it twice. Would anyone like to buy one for £12.99? No? I'm going to have to post one back for a refund, argh, I'm an idiot!
I also need to book my hotel for Ewanfest up in Wigan...less than 2 weeks to go! I'm slightly excited but I always seem to leave these things to the last minute, I hope there are still rooms left at the hotel.
