Starting to catch up!

Haha, this is a habit of mine isn't it, not writing for weeks and then doing a mammoth entry? Now then, I have to go back 4 weeks to when we went up to Cumbria! I can't really remember everything we got up to so I'll illustrate with photos.

This is me and Pete the night before we set off; he seems to have an enormous head here!

Me at Jodrell Bank in front of the Lovett telescope which we stopped at on the way up.

Nana and Granda's dog Skip with my baby sister Meg in Caldbeck

I love my phone camera sometimes when it produces images like this

More of Caldbeck, such a quiet little village

What the lovely weather did for us when we went walking at Ennerdale

When me and Pete hired a boat to go on Windermere. Pete wasn't happy that we ended up with the pink one, but they were giving £1 to breast cancer research every time someone hired it, so I say it was worth it! 6mph, watch out Speedy Gonzales!

A picture for the Playground ladies, me at the Beatrix Potter museum; Ewan's been here! They gave him a little notebook which had written on each page "Don't go into Mr. McGregor's garden." from Peter Rabbit :-D Ewan wasn't there when I was there, though.

This swan was not only happy to pose for a picture, but also to let me stroke it! I've never touched a swan before.

My Mam doesn't grow ordinary sunflowers, she grows red ones...I didn't even know you could get them in red, and neither did she, nor my Granda who gave her the seed from one of his yellow ones! How strange.

We went on the Jennings Brewery tour, which is in my home town and I've never visited before. Twas really interesting, I had no idea how ale was made before, plus we got to try 3 half pints of the 7 different ales they have. I've never been an ale drinker before, but I had them anyway, starting with the mild ones of course! We were even allowed to have a go at pulling our own drinks. LoL, not very exciting if you've worked n a pub, but I never have so it was exciting for me! Mine came out perfect, Pete's didn't have a head at all!

Us in the pub. Pete took this photo while we were sitting chatting, it makes me look a bit strange!

And then us posing. I don't know why Dad isn't smiling...

On the way back down from Cumbria, we stopped off at Sonja's house for a flying visit. Eleanor wandered off and came back looking like this:

I tell ya, I come from a family of nutcases. She couldn't understand why we were all laughing at her either, the little minx :o)

Sorry, quick interruption...Pete's just come in and said that he only found out the other day that red berries on a bramble bush are the unripe blackberries; he thought they were raspberries...on the same bush as the blackberries...*facepalm* How can you have 2 different berries on one bush? That's like a person giving birth to a human baby and a kitten, completely different species!

Oh boy I've run out of steam already, the Boston party and Ewanfest are going to have to wait. But I'll tell you about my day today, I went car shopping and clothes shopping; I drove two cars! I'm so proud, it's the first time I've driven a car without an instructor or examiner, and I even drove one of them on my own! The first one, Pete came with me, but then he felt ill and went home, so I had a wander around and drove one by myself. I was quite pleased, I instantly got on well with it; with the clutch and gears and everything, very smooth, no jerking when I pulled away or changed gear, much smoother than when I was learning. I guess because I know there isn't anyone watching everything I do, I was more relaxed, but it's odd that I was considering it's the very first time I've driven a car with no one else at all in it! :o)

I also spent lots of money; I bought two pairs of shoes, a t shirt, a nice going out top, a bikini, a suitcase, some deodorant, a washing up bowl, a can of Coke and passport photos all for £70! I know, I'm bad, but I think I did some excellent shopping! The reason I've got passport photos is because mine is expired and I'm going to need it for when I go to Spain with my parents in December to see their new house! *excited* It's only costing me £67 for the flight and that's my entire week's holiday apart from spending money, I can't wait. The new suitcase is because you now have to pay to book any bags into the hold so I'm only taking hand luggage and it's amazing how big the bag can be; 56cm x 40cm x 22cm or something, which is pretty huge to take into the cabin with you!

Oh yeah, I went to Jess' earlier to practice some pole dancing and I seem to have remembered everything I'd forgotten after my break and even tried some new things! I know I showed you cross knee before, but this one is better as I'm leaning a lot further back:

And this move is known as the teddy, it's well known for being difficult and painful but I don't find it to be either for some reason and can hold it for ages!

And we have a visitor in our house, quite a large one! Every so often she makes a dash for it across the carpet, whizzing past like her pants are one fire.

*phewph* Well at least I've made a start at catching up...
