Unloyal opposition

Ugh. The policies this administration is pushing... I am increasingly alarmed by the things I'm seeing and reading about Obama's new policies. I don't have a lot of time to keep up with the news, but it seems to me that he is actually using this economic meltdown to jam through a lot of unrelated policies. There is a lot that I agree with: education reform is the big thing.... I just don't know if this is the proper time for that... don't we have to stop the financial leak, first? And throwing money our the hole in the boat doesn't seem like it is actually fixing the hole! It is as though, now we've started with this wave of stimulus packages, Congress and the White House will keep going with them (regardless of the blatant failures) rather than back down and say, "Hey, this was a trillion dollar mistake."

Now it looks like it's going to be a three or four trillion dollar mistake. And wasn't that like... our deficit a few years ago? Is it now doubled, or tripled, as a result of this irresponsible legislation?

UGH, and don't even get me started on Nancy Freaking Pelosi.

I would submit that with education, just like any other topic i.e. health care, tax policy... there is a great deal room for reform. But just because one pledges to 'reform' it, doesn't mean they're going to make it better. And appointing as Dept. of Education Secretary a person who was involved in the demise of Chicago schools... I mean... just look: http://www.pslweb.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=11473&news_iv_ctrl=0... )
