The Littlest One, Sekhmet the Fierce

It’s funny how small creatures worm their way into our hearts. Well, not really. Anyone who has ever lived with any other animal knows how they can fill your life with joy, with laughter and love.

Several years ago, I spotted an ad on Craigslist “Free cat” and the body read “My daughter left this thing with me, if we don’t get rid of it tonight ( Read more... )

The BEST way to celebrate a life like that is to tell her story! I am so sorry she isn't well! *hugs*

I think it's the best way to celebrate a life too, I regret not telling the stories of some of the other animals that have come and gone, so I have resolved that I think in this journal, I will, give them all a little place here. *hugs*

*hugs* Thank YOU for sharing. Love cures so much, and even the most terrified little thing can learn life is wonderful when we love them.

Hi Muffy, It's Ashlie Nelson

I enjoyed reading about your little furr ball terror. It's a nice story, I always love reading about how people saved a animals life. Sean and I have 12 cats, of course I have to lie publicly and say I only have 7 because that's what my parents think we have right now. They don't approve of us having that many. We had allot of kittens that were born and we had no money to get them fixed at the time and could not find homes for the kittens in time and most of them I have had now for over a year and could not part with them now.

I hope your baby will be ok though. I had one cat my parents got me when I was 8 years old. He died in my arms the day before my 26th Birthday. He was my child, my life. This was before I started having LOTS of cats. I think subconsciously, I have been trying to fill his little paws.

Please keep us updated on your little one. :)

All of my cats have been rescues. They seem to find me, from Nina who I found in a rest stop in the middle of no where to my latest little terror Fenrir the Mighty a tiny ball of fluff someone abandoned, they all come to me.

*hugs you* I know what it's like to have them die in your arms. Actually, all of mine lately have died at home, most in my arms, with the exception of Freya the Ancient. She was at least 23, and her final day we brought her out into the office in a nice warm box by the heater and talked to her and petted her, and at some point her sleep just slipped deeper and deeper until she was gone. It was actually peaceful.

I will keep everyone updated, Thank you *hugs*

*hugs* Give her a scritch for me along with a forehead rub. A spirit like that will NOT give up easily.

*hugs* I will give her an extra special petting from you. She's a fighter, we know that. Thank you so much!
