Well, I received an owl from my parents. They know of the panic and they've read the Prophet with...with his threat and they asked me if it was true and exactly what it meant. I told them I'd explain it when I came home, whenever that is. I'll have to stay for as long as possible. They're smart people, they'll figure it out, if they haven't already ( Read more... )

That's not a fair thing to ask, Hermione...not leaving until we have to. If my parents were more aware...if I could go home right now...

He did it with the babies, we know he can do it and I want to spend as much time as I can with my family. What would me staying at school accomplish?

I didn't mean that people had to stay. Of course you're free to leave if your parents come to get you. All I'm saying is that as long as you're here, and the school is open, you're a student, so act like it. At least... try.

I'm sorry there's no way for you to go home. If you ask Flitwick he may be able to arrange a connection to your home through the Floo network. Unless you can Apparate, there's really no other choice unless you're picked up. I'm sorry.

Oh, well yes, I can see that. I must have misinterpreted what you wrote. It's hard when everyone's so scared, though.

I did write my parents, so hopefully they'll realise to contact Headmistress McGonagall or Professor Flitwick to see how they can come and get me.

I'm glad you're so strong, Hermione. Everyone will need to be if we want to do something about this. But...I don't know what.

I've never felt so guilty about being a pure blood before...

I'm glad you're strong, too. I'm not particularly feeling it.

I can't go home. Who'll watch over Ginny?

Don't you two feel guilty about anything. This isn't your fault, and you're not in the clear yet either.

There has to be something we can do. I can't stop, I can't... not until I fall over. I know Harry wouldn't, so neither can I...

I'm trying . . . but I'm just so scared . . . . but I suppose we should try to pull ourselves together--if just to reassure the younger students . . .

I always thought I wasn't a proper Gryffindor . . .

Thank you, Lily. I know it's hard, but... thank you.

I don't think there's any doubt of that.
