A fellow singer from my voice class is taking me to an open mic for singers! this Sunday. The bar sits smack in Theatre Row and according to her previous experiences can be rowdy and touristy. She says there's a doughy waiter who performs almost naked, which is fine with me so long as he's there to distract the audience while I do my piece,

Seriously, this is great, and hats off to you for doing it! What are you singing? I've decided that the more times I can put myself in this type of situation--singing in front of people--the better. I'm still waiting for it to get easier...

I think the best thing about being in a class with other singers is learning about opportunities like this. It's probably one of the key reasons why I decided to take a group class rather than *just* private lessons - making myself sing in front of people.
I'll definitely let you know how it goes!
