1.

We are the Destroyer and we are the Breaker.

I read your interview
then I read your poems
for the first time
and heard a spark.
I heard the sound
of an egg cracking on
the edge of a pan. I heard
a sound anyone would
know immediately-
the delight of the familiar
married with what cannot
be undone or unheard.

“March”

And so here the title
leads the body in the

parade. The carnival
is here again and it

is spring. We are
marching because all

that is left is “March.”

The first warm air
has brought out the

worst in me always-
I wrote the same poem

ten years ago one
evening just walking

to nowhere in particular,
the way a 21 year old

does in the

“May”

Trying to wrap my
head around (or in)
what might be Butoh
poetry.

I am looking for something new.

Lately I feel I may
have reached my
own limits in all this
memoiring.

I have been worried for as long as I can remember.

Everything tumbles
out of me.

Nothing is not poetry.
